I'm going to Amsterdam in July and was wondering what the possibility of me flying over there would be (just GA stuff) I have friends and family that I would like to take up.

I know the prices there are insane as compared to here, but what about checkouts, licensing, and stuff like that. Is there a website anywhere? I figured I'd try here before calling AOPA, maybe somebody's had experience (bad or good).

Thanks in advance

Here's how it worked 3 years ago: go to the CAA district office (there's one in Shiphol - EHAM) and have your license validated (it's like going to the FESDO). The licese is good up to 30 days.
Bring LOTS of money because it's bloody expensive (rental+landing fees+insurance+approach fees in shooting an approach).
Remember that the airspace it's different that the US (ATZ, CTR, etc.), and procedures are also different. You better read up on that stuff before jumping on an airplane.
If you want to find out more, post on pprune.com
