Delta Absorbed 9e.... They now have no HR, no payroll department, and they are pumping a lot of money in to the training side of the company. With the structure of 9e now, no one could under bid it for flying because half its operating cost is paid by delta. I think you might be missing the reason for delta buying 9e. With in the year of selling 3 regionals and saying delta will never own another regional because it is not profitable and you can not truly control the quality of the product...... so, what changed? "understand your enemy, what motivates him, and what his objectives are."
G.C Patton

They said the same about Comair. The other side is it cost nothing to shutdown a wholly-owned. In fact, in the end it save the parent company money.

9e no longer carries these costs, but dal has to consider them in the overall cost of doing business and has to decide if it's worth it, along with losses and expenses of staffing related cancelations and the intangible of the hassles of running a regional. They've learned you can run a regional like a major the hard way.

Comair was always kept as a separate and complete running regional. Lets look back at chain of events.... delta announces it has bought 9e coming out of BK and it will be a pure 900 fleet. yes, that was part of the announcement. This announcement was made at the end of the same week Alpa was on the RA RA about the 717 rates it just negotiated with Delta management "just a few dollars under the md88 rates". Delta wants a B or even better a C class pay scale in house. Remember, if they own 9e, they also own that pay rate for the 900. 600 new hires per year for the next projected 15 years is the motivation. If you are riding a horse(900), that has Delta Connection on it..... I have a feeling.... someone is about to shoot the horse from under us.

I keep hearing that delta bought 9e to dive cost down on competitors and will shut it down. Then why buy it! they could have just floated cash for operating cost till their needs were met then liquidated it. no, once again we are not seeing it.

DAL not hiring Endeavor pilots is pure smoke up your a$$ notsoclutch. Back up your facts before barfing your negative BS on here. As a matter fact, the SSP pass rate has gone up drastically. DL is calling guys now that are around the ten year mark and highly motivated to move on. They aren't bypassing a interview because their logbooks aren't up to date. Those are the facts Jack...keep trolling troll
