Okay, anyone have kids, live in NJ and have a wife stay home to avoid daycare?

Not really saving much these days. Not blowing it on anything fun either unless you get your kicks on medical bills or Target.

Tough- but you gotta pay yourself first- even if it's just 5%- the habit is key

Saved $63K in cash in 2010. Mortgage paid off last year, no school loans or credit card debt.....no kids or car. Age 30.

Of course, it's not too hard to save money while living in India......

Nice!

speaking of savings - I have 21.5K in "cash reserves" from a rollover (my Republic j4j 401K) 401K.

I want to spread this out over 5 funds in my US Air 401K. Any fund suggestions for a 36 year old?

I'm thinking of 2 aggressive, 2 mid aggressive and one not so aggressive.

At 36 I would do all aggressive. MF, and or ETFs.

That is me except the NJ part. As my kids get older (and more expensive) I've saved nothing for the past several years. Nursing along my ten year old cars passes for fun around here. That and posting on the "Majors" board, because it is free, is my fun.

/maybe I should switch to food club brand mac&cheese
//so I'll have a couple extra dollars in my pocket
///then I could afford to move up to a "pay" crackpipe like Calforums
////and leave you losers behind
/////one could dream - wait - I AM living the dream, so I'm told
/////slashies
