EK Reference Checks

Does EK check references on every applicant or only the applicants that they are actually interested in?

They only check refs on people that they are fixin' to hire. However, sometimes they check them and you still don't get hired.

Are there a lot of ASA guys over at EK?

By the way, in case you didn't already know (it's obvious), the 777-300 is one big airplane - check out this photo demonstrating its size at a gate (even though it is Etihad and not EK):
