Vanguard, Midway, Sun Country, & National, to name a few, have crashed and burned during the past 2 years. I'm curious who's next, since it seems inevitable that the extinction of the weak will continue. All ego's aside (just a little joke there, I'm aware of who we are :)) who's the next carrier to call it quits?

My bet: One of the charter carriers - Planet, Sun World, Southeast or even, gulp, Champion Air.

Any thoughts????

Are you sure Sun Country isnt still flying?

Sun Country is still flying, at least part of it.

Well, for whatever it's worth half of your "lawn dart" list may be better off than you think.... Champion Air and Planet Airways were the only two charter carriers to post a profit in 2001 - and Champion will be profitable for 2002 as well it looks. Planet is very heavily backed (money wise), and Champion is very well run as a business. They (Champion) are one of the long term survivors without a doubt IMHO.

Good luck to all.....
