By the time that happens Delta could very well be part of another airline and the acquiring airline's contract would probably prevail. The pilots might consider doing what they have to do to get Delta merged into a carrier with a chance of survival. Delta desperately needs new management and while I do not like Northwest's management an America West / US Air style deal is a very real possibility - consumated with Northwest's management and Delta's name. Customers pretty much universally hate Northwest and Delta has a better reputation.
