Wasn't there a lot of predictions that this would happen?

http://www.ktoo.org/2014/07/15/juneau-fog-forces-109-delta-passengers-sleep-seatac-airport/

I can't believe the Alaska guys haven't already posted this.

Buy local!

Looks like one of the AK flights didn't make it in to JNU and 2 didn't make it to Gustavus (Sat and Sun). Read the last paragraph of that article. Delta added an extra section to get the people to Juneau by 12:30pm the next day, and didn't strand them until the regularly scheduled flight.

So, even with the special RNP App, they still couldn't make it in on one of the flights? What happened there? How about Gustavus?

From the KTOO dot Org article:

"Alaska Airlines service in Juneau was mostly uninterrupted. Of 17 daily flights, one didn't make it. The afternoon flight to Gustavus was cancelled on both Saturday and Sunday."

If you bought your ticket on Alaska, you had a 95 % chance of getting to Juneau on your scheduled day. With Delta you had 0%.

But, Delta did get you some blankets for your overnight at the airport, as they couldn't find a hotel. Oh, and some coffee in the morning.

Just messing with ya genny. But, it did happen, as predicted.
You can have the last word.... You will anyway.

Relax dude. Probably a high mins Captain.
As for Gustavas it's a VOR approach only with mins higher than basic VFR.
Genny I thought you would know this. You are a dispatcher still aren't you?
Regards.

Oh Genital is going to make you suffer for calling him a dispatcher....

The flight that didn't "make it in" to JNU was the flight that didn't "make it out" to GST. When the weather is below mins at GST, the whole round trip is cancelled.

So wait, you didn't DEVELOP your own RNP approach into Gustavus? And you cancelled two days in a row? Thanks for stranding people out there. They undoubtedly hope DL starts service there too next Summer. They probably will, 170 daily flights at SEA by 2017. Hmmmm. You may want to keep your own options open, like ramp or lav dumper. Regards.
