Of the three different 20-5's I've flown, there was a wide difference in performance. The most important thing seems to be slat/flap rigging. T/R's are also a major drag.

We just sold s/n 471, a 85 model, one owner. with 3500 TT.

It was by far the best 20 I've flown. It would almost always see .82-.83. At FL310, it was always good for .85 (500 ktas).

At gross weight we could go to 370 up to ISA +10. We took it to FL420 on several occasions to widen the margin crossing weather. (Block 410-430)

It was a fine airplane that some very fortunate people purchaced at a very low price. When comparing a low time 20 to an older high time 50, maintenance and operating cost are two different worlds. Unless your mission requires nonstop (as in over water, no place to stop for fuel) trips over 1800 nm, the 20 will do as good a job at half the cost. The cabin is virtually the same, and if you have the aft baggage mod, the 20 has more space for bags.

We routinely took 8 golfers for week long trips.

I can't comment on the long range numbers, the longest leg the aircraft has flown in its life was 2:58!
