HEY GUYS AND GALS,

JUST NOTICED A DESCREPENCY ON THE PANSMITH CARDS, DOES SOMEONE HAVE A MOMENT TO HELP A POOR SOUL OUT. I HATE TO HAVE TO UNLEARN ANYTHING, I WANT TO HAVE IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. AS ALL OF YOU KNOW ITS HARD TO CHANGE THE LAW OF PRIMACY WHILE STUDYING.

HERE IT IS...

THERE A VERY FEW MEMORY ITEMS THAT JOHN HAS PROVIDED ON HIS CARDS

HE HAS...

SMOKE/FIRE/FUMES IN COCKPIT
DUAL ENG FAILURE
ENGINE LIMIT/SURGE/STALL
ELEVATOR TAB/LIMIT CYCLE OSCILLATION
UNCOMMANDED YAW / ROLL
RUNAWAY STAB
CABIN/LAV FIRE
RTO
ABORTED ENGINE START (ALL THREE)
RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION

NOW, WHEN I WAS AT K&S IN PHOENIX I RECEIVED A LOT MORE

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE I HAVE THESE MEMORY ITEMS

EMERGENCY DESCENT

AIRCONDITIONING SMOKE (WHICH HAS TWO MORE ITEMS ON IT THEN ABOVE: 3 CREW COMM 4. RECIRC FAN SWITCH)

APU FIRE

ENGINE FIRE/SEVERE DAMAGE/ OR SEPARATION

ENGINE OVERHEAT

ENGINE FAILURE IN THE LANDING CONFIGURATION

AIRSPEED UNRELIABLE

PAX EVACUATION

ELECTRICAL SMOKE (ONE ADDITIONAL ITEM THEN SMOKE ABOVE 3. CREW COMM)

EMERGENCY DESCENT

UNCOMMANDED RUDDER ( I HAVE ONLY ONE ITEM 1. AUTOPILOT DISENGAGE AND OF COURSE THE LEGAL BLURB ATTACHED)

WHEEL WELL FIRE

OVERSPEED

CONFIG WARNING

GROUND PROX ALERT

MY QUESTION ARE...

ARE JOHN'S PASS CARDS THE COMPLETE LIST?
ARE HIS VERSIONS OF THE EMERGENCIES THE LATEST REVISIONS?

I DO NOT WANT TO GET BOGGED DOWN AND STUDY THE WRONG STUFF. PLEASE HELP GUYS

THANKS JIM

The Pansmith cards are good, except the latest QRH (last week) has two changes. First, the Rapid D checklist is now called CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING HORN/ABNORMAL PRESSURIZATION and is only two steps (#1 and #2 from the old CL). The second change is a minor name change -- UNCOMMANDED RUDDER/YAW OR ROLL.

We don't have any of that other stuff (at least it's not boxed).

Cheers, GF

jimEJet,

Don't go overboard with your pre-hire study. Once you get to class you'll have plenty of time to study.

With that said, purge your memory of the K&S memory items. What John has in his cards are the ones you should study and know. Once you get to training compare his stuff with the FOM and QRH to make sure you don't miss anything.

Good luck and hurry up and get here!

Thanks much,

That makes my life A LOT EASIER then.

The old memory items were horrible.

I like easy.

RJ, I'm coming as quickly as I can.

Hey, you wouldn't know how the new hires are shaking out domicile wise do you?

I'm hoping to get back to Chi-town.

Was wondering if everyone was still doing the OAk thing for a couple of months.

Thanks again,

Jim

#1 show up for class..on time is good...you know who you are :)
#2 drinks lots of beer
#3 see #1

the rest?.....don't worry about it...it ain't no thing

MDW..depends on how many classes behind you.
You'll do 1 month in OAK with a line
maybe a month or two in PHX on reserve and then to MDW if history is any indication

Recently, BWI has been the next stop after OAK for guys coming off IOE. Some are getting BWI immediately after their hard line month in OAK, and I think a few guys even got BWI directly out of training.

Cheers,

Snoopy

Looking at the June vacancy bid and there were some guys that went strait to BWI. My guess would be 2 months 3 tops for MDW.

THANKS GUYS,

THAT'LL BE GREAT,

THREE MONTHS THEN BACK HOME

AND HECK, AFTER TWO YEARS, IT WILL SEEM LIKE NOTHING

:p

THANKS AGAIN
