Comair was buying Sprit, delta threaten to pull the codeshare, Comair decided to go ahead with the purchase, then Value jet went down in the everglades. Comair thought that would be the end of the low cost carriers and pulled out. Delta then bought comair, value jet bought airtran, and the rest is history.
Just like Comair.

Even our great leader Fred doesn't live in CVG, he comes in from ATL in a Lear paid for by Delta.
Don't forget though, he is one of US now.

It's true, Comair is no longer an airline. It's a part of an airline, just like the 767 pilots are a part of Delta. Just because they are a larger subsidiary, doesn't mean Comair is any less a subsidiary.
