Not good news for Cleveland tonight on the XJT side. Don't really believe the "spin'' about the new FTDT regs, but perhaps that's the excuse they prefer to use. Either way, best wishes to all affected, and here's hoping for better opportunities and clear skies someday!

How many pilots affected or will be affected in domicile?

Well, it says 70% of the RJ flights will be cancelled, and he essentially blamed it on the RJ pilots leaving the carriers, plus lack of profits for over a decade. I guess he thinks you guys should have taken more cuts to "make it more profitable??" Looks like UAL wants to dump 50 seaters next. How many pilots are based in CLE? Not good.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Perhaps the majors need to take the initiative and redo the agreements with the regionals. Nahhhhhhhh, WTF am I thinking.

They can either cough up a fraction of a penny on CASM or do the flying themselves. I'm betting heavily that they've already done the math and will opt for the former.

Not to worry, not to panic, you drink beer, you feel fine.

FYI,
From the LASA side. Expect more elsewhere.

March 2014 Temporary Positions: IAD

This message serves as a temporary position notice for five (5) Captains in IAD for the month of March. If you are currently CRJ CA DFW awarded, active, and qualified and would like to volunteer for a temporary assignment in IAD, please send an email request to Pilot Manpower via your personal email by 1200 EST on Friday, February 7th.
In position notice 13-05, (12) twelve pilots were shifted from the CRJ 200 CA ATL to increase the CRJ 200 CA IAD category, with an advancement date of May 1st. We received notice from Delta of (4) four additional CRJ’s for the month of March which increased our block hours in Atlanta, so we were unable to advance those pilots sooner in order to maintain the Atlanta operation in March. The DFW base was slightly reduced in position notice 13-05 however; there are additional DFW Captains in March that can support the IAD base. We have solicited volunteers awarded IAD Captain in 13-05 to advance to IAD on April 1st in an attempt to avoid temporary positions again in April.
For complete details concerning temporary positions, please refer to the contract section 24C. Below are a few details:
1. Temporary positions will be awarded in seniority order. If there are not enough volunteers, positions will be awarded first to volunteers in seniority order and then completed in inverse seniority order.
2. Each volunteer will be made eligible to bid as an IAD pilot prior to February 10th and returned to DFW bidding status prior to March 10th.
3. If a volunteer has vacation or training in the month of March, the pilot will not be awarded a temporary position.
4. A list will be published of those pilots awarded temporary positions on Friday, February 7th.
5. Per diem will be provided beginning on your first assignment in IAD (line-holder or reserve).
6. A positive space pass will be coordinated to and from IAD/DFW at the beginning and end of March. Only one positive space pass will be issued in each direction. Once lines are awarded, positive space travel will be coordinated.
7. Hotels will be provided to reserve pilots for the entire month of March, including OFF days. Hotels will be provided to line-holders on OFF days.

According to the message from Mr Holt, the pilot shortage has officially commenced.

In related news, just got an email from FAPA saying they're giving $25 gift cards to everyone who attends the next Regional Pilot Job Fair.
