Just looking for my best chances. I know the Fargo, ND unit will not consider non-prior. Any others out there like that? Any that like new guys? How about AFRES? Thanks.

It depends...

You touched on one unit out of 60-70 fighter units in the ANG/AFR. I would say a majority of the units are civilian friendly. At least you'll get an interview. Whether you lose the slot to a member of the unit depends on timing.

For instance, in my unit out of the last 7 dudes that went to UPT, 5 were civilians. The latest one we selected was a unit member. It's just a matter of timing and competition.

FYI - Our next board isn't until the fall.

I'm assuming you're with the 102nd....
Well that's definitely some encouraging news. If I could say one thing to anyone doing what I'm doing, it would be to ENLIST after high school. I keep taking the back seat to enlisted guys, as I should, but it's frustrating. So to increase my odds I'm applying to literally every fighter unit. That's why I made the post. Thanks for the good news!
