Cathay Questions - Cathay Cargo Vs. Pax & Who Flies 747-800F

Sorry if these questions have already been answered numerous times.

For the American based pilots, which US domiciles are now exclusively 777 and which offer both the 747-400/800F and the 777? Do the 777 and 744/8 pay the same?

A buddy of mine at Kalitta saw one of the Cathay 747-800Fs in Anchorage recently. Who gets to fly the 800s? Are American cargo crews trained on both the 400F and the 800F? How many 800Fs are on order going forward?

Lastly, if an American is hired by Cathay nowadays, what's the likelihood that he/she will have to live in HK first or can he bid an American domicile right off the bat?

747-400 crew are cross trained on the 800....as for U.S. base..you are looking at 10+ years...maybe never....the old days of CX is over.

US Bases:

JFK-B744
ATL-B744
ORD-B744
SFO-B744/B777(i think the B777 is based here but not positive)
LAX-B744/B777

If you are on the B744 you are also gonna be CCQ'd on the B747-8F.

If you were hired onto these bases you can stay on them for the time being. We are not hiring onto bases anymore, just HKG but it could change in the future, but not until all of our taxation issues get ironed out. There haven't been any base vacancies in ages b/c of taxation issues in other bases all over the world.

No B777 pilots based in SFO...yet. The flying is covered by HKG and YVR based guys. In the US... only LAX. Canada has YVR and YYZ for the B777.
