Are you talking about the guy who wrote the book in the late 1980's, or is there another one?
 
Stephen Keshner? I don't know if that was his real name, or not. I looked that name up in the FAA Pilot database, and no one by that name holds a valid medical certificate.

I read it about 20 years ago. How does it hold up today? worth re-reading?

I've only read the first chapter so far, but I think it's mostly a slam on deregulation. Not sure if it's the same guy, Dan. This book is called "Unfriendly Skies" but the cover looks similar to that other author's so maybe.
