Randy Tinseth, Boeing Commercial Airplanes Vice President for Marketing, said the delays also featured one total cancellation, but the issue was limited to the U.S market -- which accounts for 10-11 percent of its sales

So who was it? Anybody know?

If it was NWAs order switched to 777s then I hope for damn sure that everyone and all of the pilots that might get furloughed by NWA get picked up by Delta. It's pretty clear that MGMT is making decisions for both airlines as if they were one. That being the case, good and bad should be shared by all.

A friend at Boeing heard rumors that NWA had financed/firmed up 8 more delivery slots (26) for the 787. He is trying to get more info. Was it narrow body or wide body cnx'd at Boeing? Is Air Tran or someone else cnx'ing orders?

Randy Rinseth said the US Market accounts for 10-11% of backlog not of sales.

Boeing has yet to have any 'Net Cancelations" this year, meaning that if an airline canceled an order another airline was there to pick up the slot. Last year they had 12 net cancelations, 11 the year before that, 29 the year before that and 5 in 2004.

Northwest has NOT firmed up an additional 8 787 dleivery slots. If they had, Boeing would have reported the conversion of an option or new order. As of today, northwest has not converted any option or made a new aircraft order this year.

the only other airlines domestically that have orders in with Boeing are CAL and AA right? Maybe some 737 orders were deferred.
