Coming across the Gulf of Mexico today I heard Houston Center talking to "Dragnet." No number associated, just Dragnet. They were either on a shared freq or UHF. Anyone know who they are?

Air Force out of Tinker AFB, OK

If it was an AWACs, I'm curious why center was giving it the position of another aircraft via radial/distance. Seems that big dish on top would give them the info without asking!

Oh well, thanks for the information folks!
