Any new ADs or required inspections as a result of this incident besides the obvious?

Lol

That being - add to the preflight and post flight checklist

- ELEVATOR : INSTALLED -

Or just defer it!

Whoa.

This was put out 2 years ago! I guess maintance in CMA forgot about this...

Remember the Starship? Raytheon put them in the chipper to prevent huge issues like this. I say ground the entire fleet of Avanti's.

"We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Some cases of corrosion were detected in the interface between the elevator hinges fittings (metallic) and the horizontal stabilizer (carbon fibre); investigation identified the cause in galvanic corrosion between dissimilar materials.
If left uncorrected, this situation could lead to a structural failure of the elevator, which could result in possible loss of control of the aeroplane.":erm:

The key word, "If left uncorrected..." How could this have happened any other way other then Avantair maintenance failing to comply with this AD? Taking off from CMA, a maintenance base no less!
