Just went through the program in ATL last summer, and all posts above are pretty much right on. Last year, it was important to me to build as much quality time as possible to catch the hiring boom, but now it's not so critical.

If I were doing it now, I probably would find 3 people with similar goals, take our combined $120,000, purchase a Seminole, contract a full time instructor and fly the crap out of it while geting all the same ratings, then sell it for little or no loss.

-OR-

I would get a job as a lineman at an FBO, sign whatever my boss wanted me to, take my employee discount, and fly EVERY DAY until I got all my ratings and probably a CFI job out of it.

As I have said before, ATP was a GREAT experience that I do not regret, but with the current situation, there is simply no hurry.
