1) where do you want to live?

2) Do you want to commute?

3) Not sure what the Uni-Ted upgrade time is, but at AK the Jr capt is 9-1/2 yrs!

4) Do you have any desire to fly wide-body's someday?

It's your choice,

Left out all those important details.

Lives in SoCal... wants to move to either Seattle or Denver long term, could commute short term, no more than a year or two. No desire to fly int'l widebody, upgrade not important. Classes are within 2 weeks of each other.

Offers from both, but really want to go to SWA?

Ready..... go!

Have you flown the 737? You want to spend the rest of your career in it? And in the right seat at that.

If you want to live in SEA or DEN, there are guys with less than a year on property holding 737, A320, 757/767 in both LAX and SFO. DEN, is the most senior base which also means when the retirement machine really spools up that's where all the movement will be.

Oh and United pays better too.

Alaska is a better choice for you. Best of luck.

If you'd like a non-divided work group, a desire to not be accused of being a scab even though you weren't born yet, you don't get off of grievance wins for crew meals, and you'd like to not feel like you're in a Salem witch hunt, go to Alaska.

You are indeed correct.

Did you see in the other thread United has not won airline if the year since 1974. Unbelievable... Why this airline isn't still called Continental and based in Houston, I have no idea

Anyway... United needs future captains, so Alaska is the way to go for this guy. Or for that matter, anyone else who doesn't care to step up? MO: move on
