I was in ATL the other day and I saw an A320 in Airtran colors. I did a double take. What's the story on that?

You're kidding, right?

On the chance that you're not, they are operated for AirTran by Ryan Int'l to LAS, LAX and SFO. This wet-lease has been in effect for many months, now.

I see.

I wasn't kidding, I did not know. Not everyone follows Airtran.

CC,

I meant no offense. Sorry. It had been discussed here at length over time. I just figured you had seen it at one time or another.

AirTran wanted to open these west coast markets right away, and the 717 doesn't have the range to operate these routes non-stop from ATL. So, they have contracted a wet-lease with Ryan to operate the A320s until AirTran's 737s are up and running.
