I just interviewed at a regional and wanted to see what others on here thought of some of the questions posed to me.
1) Showed a METAR and asked to read. Below that was a TAF report and the interviewer specifically asked me to read the "conditional" on the TAF report. I replied, I have never...
Wondering if any one has any expired Jepp approach plates? I am a mil guy that isn't very familiar and am starting to study for an interview. If you have some (with a legend), I will gladly pay for shipping.
Thank you!!
Wondering if any Atlas guys who are also mil reservists can chime in on how accomodating they are? For example, if you drill 5 days a month, can those days shorten your 17 day Atlas trip or would those drill days be on your days off?
Thanks
Now that there are rumors that both SWA and DAL may very well start hiring again in the near future (2011-2012), many (I hope to be one of them) may find themselves in the fortunate position of having to decide between these 2 great companies to work for. I have heard that both have potentially...
Has anyone here used or currently use this program? Would you recommend it?
I have logbook pro, but this looks like it may work better.
I appreciate any comments.
Lets say you had a master's degree and were applying to a Major airline for a pilot position, would they even care if you had a masters degree... and if they did, would it matter what it was in?
For example... Masters of Aero Science vs. MBA or non-aviation related
Just curious...
Gracias.
Just wondering if a tattoo completely hidden from the public eye (on upper arm) would affect someone trying to get hired on with a major US airline?
Any questions on applications about any tattoos?
Thanks.

Stocks jump as oil tumbles on relief over Gustav
By Tim Paradis, AP Business Writer
NEW YORK — Stocks soared Tuesday as oil prices fell sharply on reports that the Gulf Coast and its oil facilities have been spared heavy damage from Hurricane Gustav. The Dow Jones industrial average rose...
Question for all you NJA guys,
1) Are there alot of ex-mil pilots at netjets? What are competitive mins for mil applicants?
2) Of ex mil pilots, are many reservists there? I am guessing it is very easy to do with 7 on / 7 off.
Thanks.

Was wondering what it would take to eventually move up to airline management once hired as a pilot at a major?
If you had an MBA and happened to be flying for several years, how hard would it be to get involved in the corporate side of things? If you did, could you still fly a little?
I...
Had a question about quality of flight time.
Alot of the majors require 1000 hrs PIC turbine time either multi engine OR single engine jet time.
Lets say you had 250 hrs PIC multi engine turbine time and 750 PIC single engine jet time, would that be an acceptable amount of turbine PIC time...
Was wondering how newhires at an airline get assigned a base?
For example, lets say you get hired and want base "C" since that is where you live... but you are assigned base "B".... Is it easy to get transferred to base "C"? How long would that take?
Thanks.
Currently at almost 1400 hrs tt and in the military. I still have a 5 years left before my commitement is up so by that time I will probably have around 2500 hrs.
My question is should I go ahead and get the ATP once I hit 1500 hrs or wait until I decide to get out of the military (if I do...
How do you get to and from airport from the crashpad if you aren't based where you live? ie, you live in say Jacksonville, and base out of Philly? Take the bus? Do some guys own 2 cars? One at home and one at crashpad?
Also, for those who commute, how often are you at home? What is a...
When a regional says you must have for example 1200/200 multi, how does the 200 hours of multi have to be logged? Are they looking for the multi to be PIC? (or is it ok as SIC on on turbine aircraft)? If the multi is pic , is it the FAA definition of PIC (at controls?)
Thanks.
Out of curiousity, which military pilot do you think would have a better chance of getting hired at a major...
A military pilot with tons of flight time doing military / tactical type flying (not flying pt A to pt B) or
A military pilot with less flight time but instead doing...
For anyone who wants to take a shot...
I was wondering for future reference if there is a possibility that minimums might change for getting into the majors. For example, instead of 1000 hrs pic turbine, could it change to 1000 hrs pic turbine jet time?
Reason I ask is that with this...
