Face it, Republicans use government influence to break unions. It's a sort of welfare for corporate America. If your pilot group supports repub's you'ed better not risk a strike because you can't scab a scab.

Um, while I agree, why are resurrecting a 3 year old thread?

Right like the the VW workers rejection of the UAW. The NLRB was going to let the VW workers reject the UAW again by ruling the interference of the Tenn Senator. But the UAW was wise and elected not to be defeated again by the very workers they were trying to organize so that VW could then build the cars that PLC rejects

ACTUALLY you're telling part of the story.. it was VW themselves that were unhappy with the lack of union representation.... they petitioned to have another vote.. The Germans get it, they understand the value of a good labor union for their managers to deal with one on one... Everything I own that is German made is a superior product and in most cases union made.

Germany and Japan have some of the strongest unions in the world. Obviously the produce superior products.

Sorry you are unhappy, are we supposed to only post pro-union messages?

Study how the unions work in Germany, the German Dept of Labour can void a contract if it does not lead to productivity gains. The makes the Germans very good. The UAW is anything but a source of productivity, with such former issues as being paid for not working in the jobs bank pools.

Old union joke at GM, how many union members did it take to change light bulb? Five, 1 electrician to turn off the power, 1 equipment resource person to get the light bulb, 1 equip set up specialist to erect the ladder, 1 ladder climbing rigger to climb the ladder and install the light bulb, and 1 Hazardous Waste disposal technician to dispose of the old light bulb. How many at a Toyota plant? The guy who saw it burned out. It was the 76 worker classifications that the union demanded that added to the demise by increasing over head cost compared to the non-union competition. BTW I really don?t care what anyone does, but they should be exposed to both sides

You've claimed this before, and I'm calling BS. I can't find any evidence of this being in German labor law.

The jobs bank was a result of management outsourcing all of their jobs to Mexico. The UAW retaliated by threatening to strike if a jobs bank wasn't created in their next contract.

What you never understand is that militant unionism doesn't pop out of thin air. It is the result of years of management abuse. Companies get the unions that they deserve.

I wish I could reference it, but this came from my busienss law class when discussing contracts. That was over 30 years ago.

How many military trained pilots does it take to fly an airplane? ONE,,, and about 30 enlisted men to actually make it happen. There's a good reason civilian contractors fly most of the heavy but essential cargo for the military. Because those socialist military pilots can't fly weather without all of that backup.

lol ^^^ shoulda let thread die :p
