Yes, I have a BRS in my cub for this reason and other reasons. It can be added to many airplanes after production. CubCrafters installs BRS after AW cert.

 
glad the family made. The parachutes are a great safety device. Just like ejections seats, you have to know when to pull the handle.

what is the envelope for the BRS / CAPS ?

I hear on Cirrus videos 600 AGL. It's kind of like an ejection seat, if you need to use it, use it.
