I'm looking at getting back into aviation after a 6+ year hiatus. My dream has always been to fly, but that hit the wall since I got my ratings in 2002 and started a family. Now that I'm more settled, I'm looking to get back into it. I currently have about 270 total time (all 6+ years ago) and have my Commercial Multi and Instrument. I was hoping to get into obtaining my CFI ratings by next summer at the latest and be done with all 3 hopefully by end of next year.
I'd moved back into finance and have been trying to get into firefighting (my other passion) and have been doing that 5 years part-time, but I'm 33 and have only 1.5 years left before I hit the max. age to be hired by state statute. (I would prefer to fly though so it's no brainer for me.)
Just want some good advice on getting back into it after so long, anyone else on here been in this situation?
