Hands off my girl!

Just a second here! SexyAmy69XXX is MY girlfriend! And she only charges me $24.95/mo! That's what I get for answering her mail sooner than you! :D

Man, you sure do get a lot done before I ever roll out of the sack...

I'm thinking of taking oddtodd's lead and calling up MCI to berate them. Well maybe berate a few regional airlines' recruiters instead? Perhaps my boss from the old flight school? Maybe call up the NYC talk radio shows and tell poo-poo jokes?

As an aside, I got ticket's to Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show", the one that's on Comedy Central. As you may have guessed, my show tickets are on the same day as my interview with (name deleted) Airlines. There really IS no God.

Guess I should be happy that I have something to do that gets me out of the dungeon, but WHY ON THE SAME DAY!? MAN am I browned off!

You guys (and gals) are killing me. Glad to see everyone still has their sense of humor. I can't offer you employment, but I can offer you amusement-

Check out the website of the Onion, which is the modern equivalent of the National Lampoon magazine.

Mark me down for a 11:00am wake up. I think it has something to do with the fact that I am working nights waiting tables but I have become the laziest SOB ever. You know you're cheap when you refuse to eat all day so you can eat for free at work that night. More beer money in the long run. Let s talk about alcohol consumption, man oh man, my liver has taken the biggest hit on this furlough. My life consists of a little TV, a little work, a lot of drinking and a large amount of internet porn. God bless the internet porn. If any of you fellow furloughed boys and girls want free porn allow me to introduce you to www.thehun.net and www.marksbookmarks.com-

God bless all of us on furlough, we will be back sooner or later, and you will look back on these days and go man, are show times what! I didnt even use to get up till noon!

When do I get up?????????? Exactly 8 nanoseconds after that freakin' pager goes off....which is exactly 10 hours after I sign in to crew rest. Oh, yeah. I guess that means I have a job and I'm very grateful for that. I just can't wait for things to return to normal again, that is if they ever do. Good luck to all you furloughees out there. Remember, this business runs in cycles. It always has and always will.

10:30 for me

I try and try and try to get out of bed to be a productive member of society, it just isn't working. I get up and catch the last 1/2 hour of "Maury Povich" I love the episodes when they send out of control teens to bootcamp. I also have to watch Unsolved Mysteries at 11:am, it is the early 80's episodes.
Did anyone watch Dr Phil this week on Oprah, I think I was napping at the time.

I usually can't sleep past 830am. I get up, eat cereal, watch Fox News (E.D. rocks) and have good intentions 'til noon. Then it's a sandwich and "Blind Date" for an hour. "7th Heaven" then drives me to the gym to break my only sweat of the day. Then I scramble to get all my financial dealings tackled before normal people go home at 5pm. Go back to the house, then it's anyone's guess. Ahhhhhh...life on reserve.

Airline Pilots: we do more before 10pm than most people do all day.

Exercise

I'd say get some exercise while you're on leave. I would go snowboarding if I was out of work. All you need is a shovel and a hill and you can build a nice size kicker to play on with your friends.

This is great!

FurloughedGal - that's awesome. After a night of bartending and waiting tables I hit the internet, check out the board while drinking my beer, and then off to bed by 2am to be up by no earlier than 11am.

I too recently had a chance to see if my Maglight I keep in my flight bag still actually works. I popped a fuse in my living room the other night (or morning?? it was around 3am) which shut almost all my power off in one side of my house. Lucky for me the Maglight still proved to be useful, albeit not for aviation this time.

11:00

I think you are on to something here. If I were you I would go straight to the library and get that Matthew Lesko book on free government money. I think that you may well be able to get a research grant to investigate this curious phenomonon.

As for me, I'm sitting in reserve in a crashpad where there are six other pilots. Four are on reserve and two hold hard lines. I have noticed that all of us reserve guys seem to stay up later and later, then wake up at about 11:00. What a coincidence. I only get up earlier to check email and a couple of bulletin boards. I would hang in the sack until 11 except we only have one phone line, and the early riser gets more on-line time without having to fight for the phone time.:D The only thing worse than waiting for the phone line, is waiting for the "reading room" to become inhabitable after some thoughtless b--tard forgets to light a match.
regards

That was funny! Every crashpad I've ever been in has been like a church in the "reading room" with all the candles. On a sidenote, I am rereading "Brave New World" currently. Talk about hitting way too close to home in light of "today".
