Good thing it was VFR
Good thing it was not night time
Amazing airmanship!!! Congratulations to the Captain, First Officer and Flight Atendants!

Bird strikes at night are pretty rare.

There is a big difference in the number of birds strikes between day and night.

Saved that pic to my desktop. Wow. Some idiot over there saying he is a Bus driver and the crew should have been watching for birds... needs to be horse-whipped.
Personally, I would have armed the .50 cals and blasted them.
We can all be the best arm chair QB's.

I'm not shocked in the least. The way he double checked the jet to make sure all the souls were off the aircraft and safe were quite indicative of Air Force officers. This is why an Air Force trained pilot is always a catch.

Actually, the Captain being the last one off the plane probably had more to do with company training after the last USAIR jet went in the water leaving LGA ('89).

But, in all seriousness, Great job by the crew!

Four R2800-34 radial engines have always been way under rated in my book. They cut right through geese like $hit through a goose.

Saved that pic to my desktop. Wow. Some smart person over there saying he is a Bus driver and the crew should have been watching for birds... needs to be commended.

You've got that right, aewanabe!
