I am curious to what life is like for a civilian flying UAVs in Iraq and Afghanistan. Are these guys mainly in a green zone, on an airbase, out in the muck? Living in tents? etc. Just looking for general info.
Hate to be an OPSEC Nazi for those who do have any clue to the answers these questions but this is precisely the thing the rest of the world does NOT need to know...
PA44Jockey-as good as your intentions might be, someone reading this could put 2 and 2 together and kill individuals involved with those programs (there are more then just pilots) just because they associate UAVs with missile attacks. If you really want/ need to know apply for a position and they will read you in.

Those are the USAF guys....the question had to do with civilian contractors who operate in the actual combat zones.
Different job entirely.
