I was just curious what everyones thoughts were on American Airlines attempt to merge seniority lists with TWA.

In summary:
TWA had it written in their contract that would force any purchaser to provide a procedure for seniority integration drawn from the CAB decision in the Allegheny-Mohawk merger. However, TWA was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankrupcy as a requirement of the purchase. This essentially allowed American to nullify the TWA pilots' contract. American's proposal would put about 1/2 of TWA's pilots (even some Captains with many years of seniority) at the bottom of the combined list.
