SD drop zones

"Air Adventures" and "Sky Dive San Diego" are the same outfit.

When the Air Adventures owner bought out Parachutres Over SD at Otay Lakes Nichol Field in 1999, his plan was to merge his Brown Field operations into the Otay DZ a few miles away to the east. (You will notice the Air Adventure weblink takes you to the Sky Dive San Diego site.) Those of us that flew at Otay were let go after the purchase and our aircraft were sold off. (They were junk anyway :D).

It's the only local DZ since SkyDive Oceanside closed in October 2000. I flew there until they closed too.

Both Perris Valley & "Lake Smell-Some-More" are in Riverside county. If you are going to drive that far north, you might as well check out Sky Dive Hemet too.

i used to fly for don mumma at otay lakes in about 1987. i watched a gal come down with her main chute tangled with her spare. she lived (I could see it partially inflate then deflate repeatedly. fortunately she hit during an 'partial 'inflation'.
