A friend and I are planning on going to Reno this year for the races but we have never been out there. We are looking forward to going, but do not have a lot of info on the area or the do's and don'ts at the races. Any suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated.

The cheapest and I think the funnest way to go to Reno is to camp. I went about 4 years ago and the camp site was packed with aviation enthusiasts. Lots of Beer and Lots of fun.

contact the Reno Chamber of Commerce and they will have all the info for you.

P.S. Bring Ear Plugs, and watch for when a racer declares an emergency. All the other racers pull straight up to get out of the way. It is so cool.

If you fly in land in Truckee, not Reno. I've done both. Reno is a mess sunday night and monday morning whereas Truckee is wide open. If I go again I'm going to stay in Truckee, it's lower key and there's no smoking on the CA side.

Have fun,

Scott
