I listened to the hotline from the VP of Fllt Ops for UAL yesterday and he said that due to the increase of planned flights for AAL out of O'hare, there would be no UAL pilot furloughs for April. He said AAL was adding up to 41 daily departures out of Chicago (sometime??) and UAL was re-evaluating its pilot level requirements to respond to AAL's schedule plans. Can't say if more furloughs are likely, but at least this news sounds promising to get us back sooner.

Any thoughts?

Guess I should have looked further down the page and saw this was already posted. Oh well... it's still good news.

I hate posting this, but it comes from a very credible source. Word is, since UAL is going head to head with AA this summer they are not planning on furloughing till fall. Again, I hate to even be posting something like this, but it was was verified twice, and again it can change, but those holding there breath for the April furloughs can probably breath another gasp for at least another few weeks. Hopefully this will turn into months, and maybe it will never even happen.

Source also stated that the furlough number has not changed but, been temporarily put on hold due to recent competetive routes that UAL plans on taking on.
