I live in Maryland and love hearing and seeing the State Police's Dauphins fly around the state. Seems like a great helicopter, and I've heard great things about them. About 2 years ago, the state of Maryland solicited bids to begin replacing/refurbishing the Dauphin fleet (their ages vary). Apparently, Agusta won the bid (they were the only ones to submit one) and will deliver AW139s in about 2 years from now.
Can anyone compare/contrast the Dauphin and the AW139? (If this sale goes forward, I'll definitely miss hearing the neat and unique Dauphin). Thanks!
