I'm not sure about a crash pad in Laughlin, but I know there are several hotels there such as the Ramada Inn and Riverfront Hotel & Casino that offer weekday rooms for $15/night. Those hotels, along with most others are right across the river and are within walking distance from the airport.
Can't you just live in the casinos? You'll fit right in if you either dress like white trash, or tote along an oxygen tank and mask everywhere with you. Watch out for the casino van drivers. Those guys are nuts.
Just thinking about walking to the airport from the casinos in the heat of the summer when it is 120 degrees Fahrenheit. I used to fly the occasional trip out of there for a non-sched and it is regularly over 110 in the summer.
I believe that PACE is flying one of those contracts now, don't know what else is there.
Yep, you can still take the free ferry from the casinos on the Nevada side, to the Arizona side, which is literally across the street from the airport. It will save you from any kind of long walk in the 110+ degree heat.
Vja217 is right, there used to be a 737 operator out there. Their name was something like "Sun.....???" Sun something. I forget, but I think they are no longer in business. I know Air Midwest still flies 1900s out there and Pace Airlines is there too. To the best of my knowledge, neither have any kind of pilot base out there.
