Those were similar numbers that I had heard going into my interview in Sep. From my interview group of about 60 at least 25 passed the interview and I know of about 20 that got hired after the background check. The rumors from the Jan interview are that they wanted to hire most of the 60 that they interviewed. They are doing a much more indepth screening before calling you for an interview.
