It looks like they can apply a negative AOA to the blades and "stick" the helo to the deck. Is that what they're doing in the end (compressed struts)?

addition to the 30'+ swells?

Not bad. Now try doing that at night. Something our SH-60B/R guys do often off of a small deck ship. Not taking anything away from these guys in the video but anyone who's ever done will tell ya that day time is a walk in the park, even in that sea state, compared to night ops.
