IAD/DCA Hotels and Transport

I am curious if anyone has any good gouge on hotels with good crew rates and transport around either DCA or IAD. Also, has anyone had to make a transfer from IAD to DCA and if so what's the best option.(are there any shuttles with regular frequency between the two airports?)

From IAD buy a ticket on the Washington Flyer bus ($5) to West Falls Church station, then blue/orange line to DCA. Pain in the butt, but if SWA Bubba can do it anyone can!
