I think all dispatchers should have uniforms, just like pelots get to where.. then we can argue of we should wear our hats to work or if our badges say "flight crew" on them!.. LOL

When I started at my current airline, us dispatchers wore uniforms that looked just like the flight crews only the gold stripes were thinner. We had jackets with stripes on the sleeves, shirts with shoulder epaulets/with stripes. A tie, black trousers, black shoes and a belt with a buckle emblazoned with the company logo completed the uniform. At least we did not have to wear hats!

After a few months we were told not to wear the uniform anymore. Apparently a chief pilot did not like dispatchers looking like flight crew. Now all that's required are the black trousers and white shirt, still a uniform in a way.

I miss the blue jeans and shorts that was OK at my former airline.

PAB...us "Ground Captains" deserve 5 stripes!

So what's the deal with Home Depot?. They keep posting for a dispatcher. Is the turnover that bad?
