Perhaps - since we're speculating - a FA was in the cockpit (although some airlines don't require this) subdued/killed the pilot on the flight deck and dialed in a 3500 FPM descent on the autopilot?
So, rather than a pilot suicide, it was an FA suicide?

No. When I worked contract in Europe, you could leave the cockpit and the remaining pilot would be on the flight deck by him/herself. That was back in 09 and I doubt the procedure has changed.

"Information collected by investigators suggests the co-pilot who was in control of the Germanwings airplane when it crashed, killing all 150 people on board, was acting deliberately, the prosecutor said Thursday.
The co-pilot apparently "wanted to destroy the aircraft," Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said."

"Lufthansa officials are "speechless that this aircraft has been deliberately crashed by the co-pilot," CEO Carsten Spohr said. The company owns Germanwings."

"The co-pilot has been with Germanwings since September 2013 and had completed 630 hours of flight time, the media office said. The co-pilot had trained at the Lufthansa flight training center in Bremen, Germany. "

French prosecutors are indicating murder suicide.

28 years old, 630 hours TT. Now for the speculation as to why. I would imagine if he had been to mosque the day before it would already have been reported...

The other thing that has not been looked at (yet), is why this co-pilot suspended his training for a longer period of time. He had to re-take all the required tests again.

Not speculating now are we... the CVR doesn't lie.... SOB, this will start a whole new wave of knee jerk regulations like mental evaluations, family and financial situations, like a DOD clearances.. get ready..

RIP to those families that place their trust the pilot community

Online web tracking service FlightRadar24 said its analysis of satellite tracking data had found that someone had changed the altitude to the minimum setting possible of 100 feet: well below the crash site lying at about 6,000 feet.

“Between 09:30:52 and 09:30:55 you can see that the autopilot was manually changed from 38,000 feet to 100 feet and 9 seconds later the aircraft started to descend, probably with the ‘open descent’ autopilot setting,” Fredrik Lindahl, chief executive of the Swedish tracking service said by email.

Is the Bus autopilot Data-Linked somehow? How could some random flight tracking website know what was dialed into the altitude pre-select?
