1.) Any "old timers" out there who could educate us on how long the duration of furloughs typically last (based on the early '90's)?

2.) Any educated guesses how long the current furlough cycle will last at the majors based on current and predicted future economic climates (hopefully economy getting better last two quarters of 2002)?

3.) Do the majors typically start hiring immediately off the street once recalls are complete or just case by case basis?

Thanks for the info, my crystal ball is fogged.

To even act or imply that what went on the last six months is part of a normal cycle of things in aviation is a disservice to a bunch of people who will not see their next birthday.

To think that hte majors will be hiring off the street is equally inane. Think 2004
