Fractional Growth Stats - CitationShares Fastest Growing & Flexjet Losing Ground...

Caught this stat information in AIN Online:

Fractionals Growing at Modest if Not Breakneck Pace
[font=Times New Roman, Times, serif]The fractional aircraft industry continued to grow over the 12 months ending April 30. Shares at the four major providers and 16 regional/local companies tracked by AvData of Wichita increased 7.2 percent, to more than 6,350. During the same period, the combined fleet expanded 5.1 percent, to 832 aircraft. Flexjet alone among the four major providers lost ground during the period. Respective year-over-year share and aircraft fleet growth for the four majors were as follows: NetJets, 7.3 and 5.4 percent; Flight Options, 5.2 and 6.3 percent; Flexjet, -11 and -13.8 percent; and CitationShares, 50 and 33.3 percent. For the regional/local programs, the figures were 53.5 and 24.4 percent. NetJets still dominates the market, holding a 46.5-percent market share, while Cessna/TAG Aviation’s CitationShares continues to be the fastest-growing fractional provider, gaining nearly two percentage points in market share.

Heavy!

Thanks for the info.

The only problem with that is that they publish the percentage of growth compared to the size of the company - not the percentage of the market growth. It's a bit misleading. Do they specify how many hours/aircraft were sold by each? Of course, a larger company will show a lower percentage than a smaller one for the same number of aircraft sold.

Exactly! 50% of 10 airplanes is only 5. 33.3% of 15 airplanes is still only 5. Statisics can be full of B.S.. Not saying that there isn't growth, but they make it sound as if C/S is pulling away from the pack.

Surprise, surprise. Another "who's got the biggest d*%k" thread on the fractionals board.

Don't you guys EVER tire of this argument?

Whip 'em out. Let's settle this thing here and now!!

Trainerjet,

You have the best post on this thread!!
I just have to laugh. It always comes to this.
Grow up people!!
