Lot of differences between Comair and Endeavor.

Hmm, Wholly owned. Shifting out of the traditional base(s) to New York. Bankruptcy. Seniority list mostly dissolving from the bottom up. Ryan Gumm. Now "incentive pay" to stick around a little bit longer than the trend. About the only difference I see is Endeavor never had a chance to go on strike.

Lot of differences between Comair and Endeavor.

Only if you've been asleep the past decade!

I remember when they said shrinking Comair down to an all 700/900 operator plus 15 200's was the key to success in making Comair a viable company. A little over two years later...doors closed.

Stay there. Wait. Watch. See. Momma D is ruthless with her young!

To: All Endeavor Employees
From :Ryan Gumm, President
Subject: Endeavor to Cease Operations
Date: July 27, 2015

All,
Today, I am writing to let you know that Delta has made the difficult decision to cease Endeavor's operations after September 29, 2015.
Delta recently announced its intent to reduce the overall number of 50-seat regional jets in its network from nearly 50 to 9 or fewer in light of the significant changes in the economic and competitive conditions in the airline industry. We believed this announcement would have a negative impact on Endeavor because we operate some of the oldest 50-seat aircraft in the Delta Connection fleet, which also have the highest unit cost per flight hour. And, in fact, Delta has decided to remove the remaining 50 Endeavor 50-seaters from the Delta network, leaving Endeavor with only 35 aircraft in scheduled service. This further reduction of Endeavor's active fleet will only create higher unit costs, which equates to a business model that is no longer sustainable in this competitive regional environment.
I understand that today's news is very difficult and raises many questions for you and your family. Human Resources is prepared to directly assist you during this time. They will post a memo and other documents on the Human Resources Epic page to keep you informed of the assistance available and to help answer many of your questions. We will also have staff available over the weekend to answer questions if needed. If after reviewing the information on Epic you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your departmental leadership as well.
The discontinuation of Endeavor's operations is in no way a failure or a reflection of your work; it is an unfortunate necessity due to the economic limitations of our aging aircraft, cost structure, the long-term outlook for 50-seat aircraft, and our challenging industry and economy. The quality of our operations has continued to be outstanding during our lengthy restructuring efforts, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to lead such a committed team. I am asking that each of you recognize the importance of remaining focused on safety and the job at hand as we continue operations throughout the wind-down period. Your continued commitment and your dedication to a safe and reliable operation is a testament to the professional team we have built here at Endeavor..

That is cruel to the extreme, however it may be a likely outcome. Without doubt, the writing is on the wall, and Endeavor may not be alone. What really chaps my a** is how much pressure the major "partners" are putting on the regionals, while creaming the benefits of feed to their own coffers.
Being wholly owned is the worst case for any regional airline, as the situation of Comair proves.
This I firmly believe will unfortunately happen to 9E during the course of the next year. The smart move for all in this unfortunate situation is to continue to seek a way out of that place.
Genny has said thousands will be able to join his flock soon. PM him. He is so full of advice he is just yearning to share. Just think. He could be in your left seat some day, that's incentive enough to bail isn't it?

And by the way, I am forced to compliment Genny on his very well written posts. He does appear to be a very educated individual. His posts are factual, and often informative, however the manner of his egotistical presence taken together with his "keyboard time" does make one somewhat suspicious if in fact he is a pilot at all. He just doesn't fit the Delta pilot mold.
They simply aren't like him/her. I have listened to them for the last 15k flight hours or so in and out of Atlanta. Genny, you just don't sound like a Delta pilot. Give us the proof!

Proof? Here ya go:

"wind check?" "how long is final?" "Follow the RJ on the Victor Loop." "Runway 28? Any chance for 27L???" "delete the speed at Hyzman." "RNAV Snuffy."

Ok, does any of that "sound" like a DL pilot? This is still an anonymous board... And I've got an opinion about this industry, and I enjoy this board...

Bye Bye---General Lee
