Last week's issue of Aviation Week and Space Technology wrote the airborne laser plane (747) is being "dismantled". Program is done.
 
man that seems like a lot of money down the drain. seemed like an interesting idea. we may even need that thing to blast asteroids out of the sky someday. we can't send some west texas drilling crew up there to do that kind of work like in the movies.
