The CAL and CALEX pilots voted in favor of a membership assessment that would pay for health insurance for their 593 furlouhed pilots. It's my understanding that other ALPA MECs are voting on this issue. Does anyone know if the votes have been counted anywhere else?

It would be nice if APA would do this for those of us furloughed from AA. The check for COBRA takes a big chunk out of my unemployed budget.

Mesaba pilots passed an assessment to cover COBRA for our unemployed pilots back in December. I believe the initial assessment covered about three months worth of premiums.

NWA Did

The NWA MEC released the results of their vote yesterday. The NWA MEC is making the COBRA payments for its furloughed pilots. They also announced yesterday that the furlough will be reduced to 490 instead of 550. Good news for 60 more. The fulough will be completed with the March 1 furloughs. Now....about those recalls.
