The price of traveling by air soon will go up as much as $10 a trip starting Feb. 1.

That's when a new federal fee -- designed to pay for improvements to air security -- goes into effect for all passengers flying out of U.S. airports.

Here is my question:

Isn't there already an aviation trust fund full of money from ticket taxes already collected but not spent?

Why not use some of that money for security instead of implementing a new tax?

You're kidding right?

There isn't a trust fund in the Gov'ts hands that actually has any money in it. It's all spent already

I think its great that the fee has already been activated. I just hope the news papers and news networks communicate to the public about it. Last thing I want to hear are passengers complaining about more fees and higher ticket prices.
