I own a King Air and want to operate as a cargo carrier for hire.

Under what circumstances do I need a 135 certificate?

I will file for 135 Cert but from what I gather it may take a few years to obtain.

Anytime you moving something from point A to point B you will need to be 135. The simplest way is 135 owner/operator meaning you are the only pilot. There are companies that will help with all the required manuals etc.
