    Cortana on windows 10?

Any way to turn that pesky beeotch off?

And did I mention that Windows 10 sucks?

    Yeah. Here's a link.

10 works a good bit better when you stop the no notice, no choice automatic updates. Set your connection as metered and that nonsense will stop as well. You can update when you want with this configuration.

Thank you, I owe you at least a beer, more likely a double Laphroaig!

I spent the first two hours with this new laptop turning crap off like the mic, sharing contacts with everyone that ever uses google and farcebook or looks at a map and a few hundred other things and I'm pretty sure I still haven't stomped out all the factory installed spyware!

I'm with you on this one. I'm probably paranoid but I shut down a whole slew of services when I boot a Windows machine. Not to mention freeing up a lot of CPU.

Have been using a VPN for years with the business and now use one for the personal side as well. Nothings perfect but I think it's a useful tool.

I don't think you're being paranoid at all. Between Microsoft, Apple, Google, Facebook and probably many others there is no privacy anymore-and they are gathering information that the Government would have to have a court order to collect, like tracking your location!

While "getting to know you" Cortana is tracking voice and keyboarding patterns...where do those files end up and who else has access to them? I sure couldn't tell from the gibberish in microsoft's privacy and end-user license agreements!

The only privacy statement that I want to see is "We don't track you!"
