    Sorry, not a shot at you or the thread. But this is the biggest airline merger news in a few years and not a peep... I remember when FI was a useful tool. Too bad it fell apart.

    Sounds like public announcements next week. Always interesting the airlines.

    Alaska Air Group is close to buying Virgin America , the carrier backed by billionaire Richard Branson, in a deal that may be agreed to as early as Saturday night, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
