    HAL hiring 2014

Nope. You've got to get yourself over here and you are responsible for housing during the interview. I *think* they've changed the process so it's just one day now, but in the past it was 2 days and often times had an off day (while they interviewed other people) in the middle.

    HA - Latest System Bid

I trade stuff around with open time all the time. It gets denied for staffing a lot, but the ability to do it is there. You just can't trade below 75 with open time.

    HA - Latest System Bid

Reserve is (mostly) very senior on the 717, so the bottom guys are getting lines most of the times. They tend to mixed PMs and AMs. Often times with only 1 day off between a block of two or three trips. PBS allows for some flexibility but it's hit or miss. I'm bidding about 10 from the bottom...

    HA - Latest System Bid

    330 - May 2001 767 - May 2008 (I think the bottom guy(s) got displaced on this one maybe?) 717 - Sep 2009

HAL converts A350-8 orders to A330neo...

If the new 330s can reach FRA, there is a huge market from that part of Europe on to NZ and Australia. A two hop flight through Hawaii (with a few days or weeks on the ground) sounds a lot better than going through Dubai or LA.

    It's Official...Compass gets the first 20 American owned E175s

You don't need longevity caps when the most senior captain is only at 8 (or 9?) years.

    HAL hiring

That's fine. I very much can appreciate what a lot of you guys went through to get the airline to where it is today. The dedication and willingness to keep working through some really bad times that a lot of guys put in is not lost on me. That said, my point stands that, from what I have seen...

    HAL hiring

Jim, I'm a new guy. Wasn't here for the last time around and am playing to catch up (when I can get guys to talk politics about anything other than then current MEC issues). Thanks for the history lesson about what came from where. I agree that limiting code share to a WO only and adding a...

    HAL hiring

Our scope is laughable at best and really only protects HNL to the 4 big neighbor islands airports. The 29,000 block hour minimum provides for about 5 hours of flying per 717 (assuming the normal 16 aircraft schedule, way less if we fly all 18) per day. Currently they are doing considerably more...

What is the Process to Jumpseat on Hawaiian?

I've NEVER had a problem listing at the gate with Hawaiian, with the exception of HNL, where you have to go to the Special Service counter to do it because the gates don't have CASS access. Never called a phone number before either. Maybe I've just been lucky.

    Virgin America Classes.

They are running interviews on the 2nd and the 9th. No idea about anything beyond that or about class dates associated with those interviews.

    Virgin America Process

That's what I was told by somebody over there. I also discovered that if you fail the Previsor (which there really is no way of knowing as they don't tell you) you can take it again after 1 year. If you update your application during that one year period you'll get another previsor to take...

Does anyone else thing flying is boring?

Seconded. Motion passes. And here I was hoping that whenever I escaped regional hell and made it to the big show I wouldn't still be surrounded by idiots. Damn... all my dreams are getting shattered here.

PSA just official became the bottom feeder

Because the other MEC chairman discussed the possibilities of the Fee For Departure Program (which includes seniority portability) and a disgruntled group of guys started a FUD campaign that basically said FFD = Mesa pilots coming to PSA with their seniority, whether PSA got new jets or not. And...

    PSA Rumor Or Fact?

The 700 rates are not. EDIT: For clarification, LOA #3 contained the concessions on the 50 seat pay. LOA #8 has payrates for the 701. 8 > 3 etc. etc.

    ARW Wiss Key Magazine

Seeing as I'm not a ARW pilot but I've been reading the Wisskey magazines since they started coming out, I guess I can comment. It's a top notch communication from a Union to a Pilot Group. Lots of well written (and some fluff) information. The spring issue was the FIRST one that started...

PSA runs off runway during a aborted takeoff at CRW!

They haven't been pay for training since 1992 I think.

Chautauqua CRJ 200 drops ADG and blows 4 tires at CLE

Some CRJ have three 02 masks on both sides so the limiting factor is life vests. We had a checkairman who's favorite question was how many people can you get on a 200 and a 700. The 200 is 59 (50 passenger + 5 infants + 2 pilots + 1 FA + 1 Jumpseater) and the 700 is 82 (70 passengers + 7...

    Quit ALPA Now!

Nice... so he's gone from saying ALPA is throwing away 44 million and they suck to wondering why they'd be the middle man to wondering if they will get investigated for insurance fraud. Anybody want to start a pool as to what's next?

    Getting from DCA to IAD

Or wait about three years until they complete the metro line. But in the meantime, what Boilerup said works great. I think the bus is $12 but I may be confusing it with the MassPort buses out of BOS.
