16 years
It is indeed a very sad day that the airline I enjoyed 16 years and 4 months. Comair will be shut down exactly 8 years after My retirement.
All the people I crossed paths with enriched my life and I miss all.
May all take your experiences and find a better future.
Thank you.

OMG, to my Comair brothers and sisters it is really sad to see the additional down sizing what was a great airline. Just to let you know I look back at my 16 years and 4 months as a outstanding and wonderful experience. To all the people I personally knew and those I didn't my heart goes out...
Prove it, with quotes from then CEO, or any board member of Delta.
When I say market forces that means the bean counters realized that with the contract came high costs and therefore changes in how they do business. That is self evident watching the events over the last 10 years.
If you...
cause and effect
I was there. Walked and would again. We did that because the time was right. While some may disagree we did get what we wanted, a better contract. What I don't agree with is the thinking that Delta management, after we struck them, became vindictive and decided to punish...
You have no idea how glad I am retired, with this still being talked about like Chimps having a Po fight. Stop it. And this is in no way denigrading Chimps
In the summer of 1996 the Mesa Union got really bent out of shape when they found out about that yours truly (retired CMR) and another CMR xpilot repostioned couple of 200's out of DCA, CLT and CAE.
Out of DCA had about 17 pilots and FAs ride to CLT and turned over an aircraft to a Crew in CAE...
After retiring in fall of 2004 from CMR I went a year without doing anything. I decided to get recurrent in the CL65. Doing this to move some RJs around the country and be qualified to get a job overseas.
I found that Bombardier offered recurrent for about $5500 vs FSI and Simuflite at...
As a CMR Retiree I Non-reved AUS-DAB thru ATL two weeks ago and was first on the list or very high on the list both out of AUS and ATL (even got first class on ATL-DAB).
I'm guessing my Non-reving days are over when it comes to near full flights and more non-revs than seats. Exit row and...
ahaaa.....those were the days....living in a 2 bedroom apt with a gun nut, guy that wore bikini panties and let you know it, a woman ramper, and woman who's only reason to being at CMR was to go back home and fly for TAM.
5-1988 to 9-2004......what a run
The above was absolutely true, and the other reason I didn't accept the position.
My friend got out of the loan thing because he stayed just long enough and it didn't take him anytime to get checked out and 135 ride in the Cheyenne.
If it is the same folks. Interviewed with them several years ago didn't accept the job because of the schedule and pay. Also had a friend who worked for them only briefly, left because of the schedule and some conflict with management. Both of us didn't need to build time or need the pay...
After doing a questionable flight as a contract copilot in Challenger I suspected and asked the captain if this was a charter and he said that the aircraft/crew was leased to the entity that we were flying for.
Needless to say the hair on the back of my neck raised up and I decided that the...
