The Best Attack Helicopter is the one over head and properly supporting the Infantry.
My experience in them ended about 10 years ago, so it's a little dated. I just remember that everyone thought other aircraft sucked and theirs was the only one that could win the war.
I guess it depends on...
I had a recent claim after we hit a deer.
The claims agent completeley ignored us throughout the process and never returned a call.
Luckily the repairs were completed properly with one small hickup. Neither the local claims rep. or the people on the other end of the phone down in TX were...
If you have a Garmin 430 with a recent software version and an autopilot you can watch the machine do it all.... Well, I do keep a hand on the collective.
Yes. The current name is "Flight School 21".
Lots of info out there.

Is your paper log carried out the the hundredth? i.e. 1.25 hours vs. 1.3?
I transferred all my airline logs to Log Book Pro line by line and the little logs were carried out to x.xx Logbook Pro rounded up (like I should have at first) which increased the times.
The sad thing about this issue to me: People who haven't/can't/won't serve can't grasp that the main focus in the military is about the MISSION. NOT some individuals 'feelings'. WTFO, how many more distractions are the non-hackers going to lay on the shoulders of those who stepped up and...
Two neat references:
An old one that started me off: (AC 61-13b FAA AC 61-13B Basic Helicopter Handbook )

The new, updated one: (FAA-H-8083-21 Rotorcraft Flying Handbook, PDF down-loadable)...
After being being an IP for a while you go back to Rucker for the 'IE' (Instrument Examiners) course. After that most generally become an 'SP' (Standardization Instructor Pilot) and you are the one that 'Standardizes' the unit. SP's train/evaluate IP's
Maintenance Pilots are Maintenance...
As a Warrant you 'Track' in a specialized field.
The Following are the options:
1. IP (most flying)
2. Maintenance Test Pilot (most work)
3. Safety Officer (most paperwork)
4. Tac Ops Officer (???)
Remember the key point that AirCobra brought up is that retirement is based on BASE pay. No flight pay, BAH, BAS, etc.
RLO's (Regular Line Officer i.e. 1LT, CPT, MAJ...) will make more base pay that CWO's
Look up DFAS and search the Pay Charts
Your new hobby will be waiting in the Army.
Not making light of the stress, I know full well the frustration of waiting on USAREC and the WOFT packet process. Mine took 1.5 years to put together.
Stick with it, the payoff will come.
Good Luck!
In my time it was 3:1 for the average active duty unit.
I don't know if this is different now on active duty.
It seems the RLOs get a better percentage in the Guard/Reserves.
+2 for AirCobra.
My wife gave birth to our daughter while I was 'on orders' and the total bill was $4.25 (for my steak meal). Honest question, what would the average co pay for a 'youngin' be with Blue Cross? What about each maternal 'well being' visit and associated ultra sounds? My...
AirCobra,
I am interested in the date of the article that you posted. Some of the points brought up are valid but things in the 'Gun World' changed drastically after Shah i Kot and the opening of OIF. I have been out of the 'Big Rig' (-64A) for a while and know that TTPs have improved several...
